Grass should be added in thin layers so that they do not compact. Simply place the mixture inside the bin and check to see if the water and mixture is equally distributed. Be sure the screen fits tightly against the can so there are no openings larger than 1/4 inch. Worms are kept in a bin with shredded paper or other biodegradable bedding.Just be sure you do not remove too many worms when you harvest the compost. And if you follow these instructions, your worms will have a long and happy life. Just be sure your bin has a lid to keep out flies and rodents.
